1. What do I get when I order marching band arrangements from you?
You get PDFs of the scores and each part (treble clef for baritones as well) and MP3s of all the pieces. I write my music using Sibelius, so if you have that program I can send you the music that way as well  so your percussion writer can easily work with my arrangements (earlier shows not available as Sibelius files).

Most importantly, you get these on time. I take this part very seriously as I know what it is like to be at band camp with no music to work on, or no drill to work on- it prevents your band from reaching its maximum potential for that year. When you get your wind arrangements on time this allows your percussion writer to have more time to write his music and focus on quality, as well as your drill writer, and color guard choreographer. It is a huge ripple down effect that I know starts with me.

2. Do your arrangements include percussion parts?
Percussion parts are not included in the price. However, if you are ordering new wind arrangements or compositions then I can certainly refer you to some percussion writers that I have worked with for a long time and trust to only enhance the wind arrangements that I am providing for you.

If you are purchasing a previously written show then just check on that show’s page. It will tell you if percussion parts are already available for purchase or not.

3. Can I get a sample score for perusal?
Yes, however you will only receive the odd-numbered pages of the requested score.

4. How can I sign up for you to design my show this year?
I set up my writing schedule to give priority to clients from the previous year. I only write for 12 bands each year (to maintain the quality of the arrangements) so they have first opportunity to sign up before new customers can. November 1st of each year is when new clients can contact me and request a writing slot. When November 1st arrives it is based on first come first serve. A down payment and return of the signed contract is needed to solidify a writing spot.

5. Are revisions included in your price?
Yes, changes are be included in the price. The only exceptions to that is if the band director changes his mind in terms of show concept, or wants to go in a different direction musically with a piece after it has already been written.

6. When is the money due?
The payment is broken up into 2 installments; the first is due within 30 days of the return of the contract to myself, and the second is due 30 days after you receive the final product. I can be flexible with payments if special considerations are needed. As a former director myself I know that it can be a hassle to get money sometimes from the school board. I would like to be able to provide my arrangements for any school that wants to use them.

7. Do we need copyright permission to use your previous band arrangements?
Yes! Permission is needed for all marching band arrangements. The only exceptions are public domain pieces or if you are doing one of my marching band compositions, in which case copyright is already included. I suggest that once you solidify your show music choice for the upcoming year that you get started right away at obtaining copyright permission for all of your works as this will help me get started quicker. Some pieces of music require more time to get permission, and some are always denied. For any questions on this please visit Copycat Music Licensing. Permission is needed before I can start an arrangement.

8. Ordering an original show from you is more expensive than arranging music, right?
No. Whether you are hiring me to write an original show for your or arrange a new show for you they are both the same price.

9. Can we make adjustments to one of your previous original shows?
Definitely! If you feel like the show would not work for your instrumentation but you really want to perform the show then we can make that happen, for an added fee. Any work that has to be done for instrumentation, voicing, show length, etc will carry an added fee. Any alterations will be extra.

10. Can I mix and match parts of your shows?
Yes. This is no problem at all and does not cost extra at all.

If you have any more questions for me at all, please feel free to send me an email and we can discuss whatever questions you may have. Thank you!
